Which DJI goggles should you buy? Compatibility chart and summary

There are several DJI goggles, with similar-sounding names and different levels of compatibility.  What’s more confusing is that newer goggles don’t necessarily have better compatibility than some older goggles.  Here is a summary of the different DJI goggles’ compatibility and differences.  UPDATE: DJI Neo (reviewed here) was released on September 5, 2024, and it can indeed be used as an FPV drone with Goggles 3 (see below).

  • What does it look like? Compact like Goggles 2 but with rounded edges.  Has two foldable antennas.  The headstrap has a built-in battery pack.
  • Key feature: instead of having to carry an external battery pack, the battery is built into the headstrap and acts as a counterweight for comfort.

  • Currently discontinued.  Check used prices here.
  • What does it look like? four antennas, looks identical to DJI FPV Goggles.  In the nose area, it should specify the model and should say FPV Goggles V2
  • Key features: the Goggles v2 support 5.8ghz and 2.4ghz.  They have wider compatibility than the original FPV Goggles v1.
  • Compatible with these drones:

  • I got the brand new affordable DJI Goggles N3, and they are pretty fantastastic! They cost less than half as much as some of these goggles.
