Adapa360 showed a demo of its invisible 360 cinelifter drone in flight, which can capture 7k 360 video.

In the past year, there have been many new “invisible” 360 drones — drones that can capture 360 video, while being invisible in the video.  The result is the ability to show any angle at any time, or even multiple angles simultaneously.  Creators can also focus on flying and reframe the shot they want, after the fact.  Here is a sample.

Although 360 drones are very versatile and can capture shots that would be impossible for other drones, they generally have lower resolution than non-360 drones because the video resolution is spread out over 360 degrees.  For example, the Pavo360 and Invisi360 capture 5.7 360 video, but after reframing, the result is a non-360 video that has about 1080p resolution.

One solution is to use higher resolution 360 video.  A few months ago, Adapa360 showed their design for an invisible 360 cinelifter, i.e., a drone that is capable of carrying professional cinema-quality cameras.  Adapa360’s Medium Lifter 360 Cinelifter can be used to carry two DSLR or mirrorless cameras, each with an ultrawide fisheye lens.  Here is the prototype’s flight:

Unlike most other 360 drones, the Medium Lifter is stabilized.  In the video below, you can see it hold its position without the pilot controlling it.

Now Adapa360 has shown the drone in flight with retractable landing gear, and what appears to be a smoothly stitched video, which Adapa360 says is 7K.  (If the video below doesn’t work, see the post here.)

In addition to being able to capture 7k 360 video, Adapa360 has been able to use the Hawk21 for videogrammetry to create 3D models of its environment.

Although the video is stitched and stablized, you can see some “jello” waviness.  Adapa360 is working on eliminating the jello.
