Hi Mohan. Yes the tripod threads are plastic. You have to be a little more careful with it. Wi-Fi connectivity is generally ok but occasionally, the Wi-Fi will say connected but the app won't know that the camera is connected. Re the new Gear 360, yes it could be better than the Theta.
