Yeah i can understand that with a Netflix movie. But in 3D and full theater surround sound with subwoofers – that is on a whole different level of content experience. The immersion is incredible. And it is easy to set up using Virtual Desktop.

I would watch some pluto.tv until they took it away. Although I heard a while ago now – that it was supposed to return. Some “mod” in the movie theatre app was telling everyone. Although that was the funnest part – drawing pictures and throwing popcorn/tomatoes at people. At least the avatars weren’t fat, so everyone could be thin for a change.

I’m curious too if the Quest 3 will be usable as a virtual monitor but I doubt it. Besides the resolution, I think it would not be comfortable to wear it for several hours continuously.

As for Vision Pro, setting aside the Windows / Mac issue, I’m hoping it is usable as a virtual monitor. As for VR games on Vision Pro, it seems Apple doesn’t want to make it usable for that, strangely.

Anyway I’ve ordered quest 3 and I’m leaning toward buying Vision Pro, for spatial video among other reasons.

Well, I think it’s a clever idea for them to use celebrities that are more familiar to younger people who aren’t using Facebook.

Thanks Ethan. I watched a 2-hour Netflix movie on my Quest 2 and it was kind of bearable. But I can see how it wouldn’t be for everyone.

I’m insanely bullish on VR/AR, but this crop of headsets is still squarely in the realm of toys for early adopters who are willing to ignore their major faults for a taste of the future. With Apple-level (or newer 2nm) processing ability and Meta’s upcoming 55ppd display and convergence research, things really could shift in the next 5 years.

Thanks for the offer! I’ve heard good things about it! I think I bought the app but just haven’t had time for it. But I would put this in the same category as exercise. Congrats on doing great with Eleven TT!
