I’m surprised how close the quality is from the A7r/12mm Samyang and the A6000/8mm Samyang. I guess the 8mm lens requiring more shots bumps up the resolution over the 7.5mm Samyang. Would you be able to publish the resolution of the long side of these panos for comparison? I’m looking for a lightweight set up to use on a pole where I only shoot with the camera level or at a slight angle to avoid shooting the zenith and nadir separately. I’m currently thinking Sony A5100 or A6000 with the 8mm Samyang as the A7 with the 12mm Samyang is pushing up the weight a bit too much for my withering biceps!
Thanks again for the comparison.

If you were to choose, and the quality would be the top priority, what would you take: Sony A7R IV oraz Nikon D850 for panoramic photography?

Zoomed Detail is very important so was only considering the XPhase Pro S that you have reviewed or a mirrorless such as your proven examples of Sony alpha series but am also swayed by the Fuji X-T30 or even X-T200 and the excellent reviews on the MFT, Panasonic G9.
I’m swamped with info and would appreciate your Guru experience of 360 use and best camera for the job considering that I won’t use for Landscapes, Portraits, Lingerie Models or pretty house tours just boring, work sites indoors and outside.
The MFT Panasonic G9 has a Hi Res 80mp mode and although MFT, could that be used based on your mention above of advantage of Full Frame and it’s higher resolution?
Is there any other cheaper mirrorless Camera that you or others could recommend as a starter for a Noob based on my needs above for 360 photography only and not video.
I will try the Panohero H6B with a GoPro Hero 7 that you reviewed, as a starter but it won’t look as professional as a XPhase or Mirrorless with a NN3.
Apologies for the Noob Questions that I seem to ping to you.
Cheers

Thanks Michal. On a6000, Sigma 3.5 only needs 4 shots. Samyang will be more detailed because it is a diagonal fisheye. Pls. note the sample I posted was Samyang 8 f/2.8 II. I recently got the Samyang 8 f/3.5 and will be comparing that as well.

Really good review. Thanks for it. For me as a beginner of 360 it’s really useful. I have a question about a6000 or it’s younger brother a6300. Better idea will be combined those to Samyang 8mm f3.5 or Sigma 8mm f3.5 with an adapter? Both of them needed 8 photos to do a 360, Sigma is more expensive and widly recommended, but in your samples I found Samyang slightly better. What You think about it?
Regards
Michal

Hi Adrien. Yes. Depending on whether you want to take 4 shots or 8 shots, either the Samyang 7.5mm converted from MFT to Fuji X, or the Samyang 8mm.
