In reply to Neil Saunders. I am also a proud owner of the Fuji W1 which brought me here, following the QooCam EGO. The QooCam is missing the feature I love the most, which is the amazing 3D lenticular screen on the W1. Having to use a viewer seems a bit annoying in comparison. I also need to know if it has the manual 3D mode of the W1, where you take one shot then move the camera and take a 2nd, enabled insane 3D effects for macro photography and even landscapes. In short, how on Earth has nobody made a new version of it? It's a fantastic little thing.

Having been a 3D fan for decades, I have taken hundreds of stereos with vintage 1950’s cameras, the Fujifilm W-3, twin Canons synced with StereoDataMarker, and the Panasonic Lumix 3D-1 (my current favorite). I like 3D video as well, so this new Qoocam intrigues me because of its high-res display, instant viewing without an Oculus-type headset…I’m going to get one at the kick-starter price as soon as they are available!

In reply to panobratsk. Ha Ha ! We are all trying to figure this one out. It may be anywhere from 55mm to 65mm. I guess we will find out soon enough since the Kickstarter campaign will go live in a few days.

Looking at the promo-picture, I assume that the interpupillary distance will be 57mm.

In reply to Neil Saunders. Unfortunately, Kandao has not released any information on stills resolution yet. Also keep in mind that, whereas your W1 has zoom lenses, the EGO has fixed focus wide angle ones. So I am not sure the EGO can replace your W1. It does however offer some interesting characteristics not present in the W1 and, similarly to it, it happens to be a very small and lightweight camera you can have with you all the time. So you might want to take the EGO along without necessarily ditching your W1.

In reply to Matthew Bok. The EGO appears to record content in 16:9 aspect ratio. Therefore, any media that can playback 16:9 3D content can play it back with a compatible app. The beauty of the EGO however is that it includes a stereo viewer so that you don't need a headset to playback your content. However, if you are sharing content with a friend that has a VR headset, it will work. Keep in mind that it will also display fine on glasses-free 3D phones and tablets as well as 3D TVs.
